A successful Bullock cart trace was held in Sonappu of Vadmaradchi, Jaffna today, after about 30 years. The event commenced at about 1400 hours, where number of Bullock carts taken part in the competition.
Large number of people, amid strong wind and hot sun shine, gathered at Sonappu – an open space in the out skirt of Vadamaradchi.
The event was organised by Karaveddy Youth organisation
Bullock cart trace is widely practiced as traditional sport event since ancient times in Northern Srilanka and India.
