Hartly college Student participates in Intel’s global science competition (ISEF) held in USA

Mahendran Sivatharshan from Point Pedro Hartley College has participated in the 65th International Science and Engineering Fair, the world largest international pre-college science competition held in Pennsyivania, USA.
Total 1700 participants from 70 countries have participated in the competition, which was held from 10 the May till 15 the May of this month.

Sivatharshan, only one Tamil student out of five participants from Srilanka, had been elected at the Srilanka Science and Engineering Fair (SLSEF) held in March of this year at Colombo, where Sivatharshan’s “Eye protective and Energy saving lamp” project had drawn the attention of the panel of judges. It was a unique design with an LED bulb enclosed in a sphere filled with distilled water which helps the light to cater evenly and increase its concentration.
Sivatharshan who is currently studying in 11th standard at Point Pedro Hartly College, hails from Puloli Sinnaithai, Jaffna.
