Agilan wins gold medal at WUKF world Championship in Ireland

Valvettitthurai based Agilan Karunakaran has won gold medal at 6th WUKF World championships in Individual Kumite, in the Karate. The event which was organised by 'Amateur Martial associaion' held from 15th to 19th june that took place at Ireland (Dublin), where 36 countries participated with a total of 2254 athletes.
Agilan for kumite fought in a category with 66 competitors and got first place achieving a gold medal. This year he is the world champion for his kumite category. At the world championship that took place in Poland in 2014, he received silver in kata. At the european championship that took place in Belgium in 2015 he again received gold in kata and bronze in kumite.
Agilan is son of Srilanka - Valvettithurai born Kavitha and Karunakaran, grand son of Former Valvai blues played Mr.Kathirgamalingam.
