Statues of Kuttimani and Thangathurai opening ceremony to be held

A statue opening ceremony in memory of Tamil liberation movement leaders Nadarajah Thangathurai and Selvarajah Yogachandran (Kuttimani) is scheduled to be taken place on July 25 at Valvettithurai, jaffna.
The two leaders were among the Tamil detainees, killed during the Welikada Prison massacre on July 23, 1983, an event that remains one of the past most significant incidents in Sri Lanka's ethnic conflict.
According to the organisers, the statues have been funded by overseas supporters associated with the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO).
It is said that, The event is coordinated through the efforts of Mr. M. K. Sivajilingam, a former senior member of Tamil elam liberation organization (TELO) and a Chairman of the Valvettithurai Urban Council.
