இந்த அரிதான புகைப் படமானது 1971 ஆம் ஆண்டு வல்வெட்டித்துறை சந்தியில் வைத்து எடுக்கப்பட்டது. படத்தில் காணப்படுவது வல்வெட்டித்துறையிலிருந்து அமெரிக்கா சென்றிருந்த அன்னபூரணிக் கப்பலின் ஒரு மாதிரி வடிவம். 1971 ஆம் ஆண்டு யாழ் முற்றவெளியில் நடைபெற்றிருந்த உலகத் தமிழாராட்சி மாநாட்டின் போது காட்சிப்படுத்துவதற்காக செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது. படத்தில் விழா மற்றும் பயண ஏற்பாட்டாளர்கள், நலன் விரும்பிகள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் இவர்களுடன் அன்றைய தின விழா அறிவிப்பாளர் திரு.வ.ஆ.அதிரூபசிங்கம் மற்றும் இவ் அரிய புகைப்படத்தினைத் தந்துதவிய திரு. சக்திவேல் ஆகியோர் காணப்படுகிறார்கள்.
This rare photo shows a model of ‘Florence C Robinson ex Annapurani’, a sailing Vessel sailed all the way to Gloucester of Western coast of America from Valvettithurai, Srilanka. The model was made in order to present her at the World Tamil Research conference, held in 1971 at Murraveli, in Jaffna. The photo was taken at Valvettithurai junction, just prior to journey to Murraveli, Jaffna. In the Photo, organizers of the journey and show, Well-wishers, announcer Mr.V.Athiroobasingam and Mr.T.Sakthivel who has given this rare photo, are seen.

இலங்கையிலேயே பெரிய அம்மன் மற்றும் சிவன் ஆலயங்கள் அருகருகே அமையப்பெற்ற காட்சி. இதனிலும் சிறப்பு இவற்றுக்கு அருகில் பிள்ளயார் ஆலயமும் (புட்டணி), முருகன் ஆலயமும் (வயலூர்) அமையப்பெற்றுள்ளமை. வல்வெட்டித்துறை அம்மன் கோவில் பருத்தித்துறை காங்கேசந்துறை வீதியில், வல்வெட்டித்துறைச் சந்தியிலிருந்து மேற்காக சுமார் 600m தொலைவில் உள்ளது.
The photo shows the two biggest temples of Goddess Amman and god Siva situated adjacent to each other, seen only in Valvettithurai, Srilanka. Furthermore a Ganpati temple and a Murukan temple too located adjacent to these temples in a curved line. The Valvettithurai Amman temple is located on KKS-Point Pedro road, about 600m west of VVT junction.

இந்த வித்தியாசமான பனை மரம் யாழ்ப்பாணத்தின் பருத்தித்துறைப் பிரதேசத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள வல்லிபுரக் கோவிலுக்கு அருகில் அமைந்துள்ளது. வெப்பமண்டலப் பிரதேசத்தில் வளரும் பனை மரங்கள் பனை குடும்பத்தைச் சார்ந்தவை. சுமார் 40 அடி அளவில் வளரக் கூடிய இந்தப் பனை மரங்களின் இலைகள் சுமார் 5 அடி வரை நீளம் கொண்டவை. யாழ்ப்பாணத்தின் ஒரு முக்கிய அடையாளமாகக் கருதப்படும் இந்தப் பனைமரங்கள் பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக தற்பொழுது வேகமாக அழிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன
Seen near Vallipuram temple of Vadamaradchi in Jaffna Peninsula. Palmyrah is one the Plants of Palm family, grows in the tropical or subtropical climates. Usually it grows to 40 feet, with leaves 5 feet in length. Palmyrah is remarkable identity of Jaffna, but now getting diminished very fast for various reasons.

ஈழத்துச் சிதம்பரம் என்றழைக்கப்படும் காரைநகர் சிவன் கோயிலில் ஆற்றிய சிறப்புச் சொற்பொழிவுக்காக "சிவத்தமிழ்ச் செல்வி" என்ற பட்டம் பெற்ற செல்வி தங்கம்மா அப்பாக்குட்டி அவர்கள் ஈழத்தில் சைவத்துக்கும் தமிழுக்கும் பெரும் தொண்டாற்றிய ஒரு மணமாகாத சமூக சேவகியாவார். உதவியற்றவர்களுக்கு ஆதரவு இல்லங்கள் அமைத்து சேவையாற்றி வந்தவர்.
ஜனவரி 7, 1925 இல் யாழ்ப்பாண மாவட்டம், தெல்லிப்பழையில் பிறந்த தங்கம்மா அப்பாக்குட்டி அவர்கள், சைவத்திற்கும் தமிழுக்கும் மற்றும் ஏழை எளியோர்களுக்கும் தொண்டாற்றி இலங்கையில் ஒரு தன்னிகரற்ற ஒரு சைவத்தலைவர் ஆகக்கருதப்படுகின்றார்.

Thangamma Appakutti
Born on January, 7th 1925 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Miss Appakutti had dedicated herself to the development of Saivism and Tamil language in the country. A Spinster, who was given a title 'Sivathamilchelvi ' for a speech in Karainagar Sivan temple.
Her contributions toward the Tamil Hindu community of Sri Lanka in the areas of social services and education made her one of the most outstanding Sri Lankan Tamil Hindu leaders of the last decades.

தேர் முட்டியும் ஆடுகளும் - 'Ther Muddi' & Goats

படத்தில் காணப்படுவது இந்து கோவில்களில் ஒரு அம்சமாக விளங்கும் "தேர் முட்டி" ஆகும். இந்து கோவில்களின் வருடாந்த மகோற்சவத்தின் தேர்த்திருவிழாவின் போது
சுவாமிகளுக்குரிய பூசைகள் இத்தேர் முட்டிகளிலேயே நடைபெறுவது வழக்கம். வருடத்தில் நடைபெறும் இந்த ஒரு நாள் பூசைகளை தவிர, ஏனைய நாட்களில் பொதுவாக இத்தேர் முட்டியானது ஆடுகளின் தங்கும் இடமாகவேயுள்ளது.
மேலும் குறிப்பாக, ஆடுகளை தவிர்த்த ஏனைய பிராணிகளான மாடுகள், நாய்கள், பூனைகள் போன்றவை இத்தேர் முட்டியில் தங்குவது அரிது என்பது ஒரு சிறப்பம்சமாகும்.

"Ther mudi" is a platform with staircase near which the car (Ther) is parked in Hindu temples in Srilanka and India. It is used only during ''Ther'' festival of the temples, where rest of the time ''Ther muddi'' is generally being used by Goats for resting.
It is interestingly to note that animals like Cows, Dogs and Cats etc do not generally use ''Ther muddi'' like Goats.

Tokyo Sky tree is the free standing terrestrial broadcasting, restaurant, and observation tower in Tokyo of Japan, which became the tallest structure in Japan in 2010 and reached its full height of 634m in March 2011, making it the tallest tower in the world, displacing the Canton Tower, and the second tallest structure in the world after Burj Khalifa (829.8m). Tokyo Sky tree ஆனது ஜப்பானில் அமைந்துள்ள உலகத்திலேயே மிக உயரமான தொலைத்தொடர்பு கோபுரமாகும். இதன் உயரம் 680m. உணவுச்சாலைகளையும், மேல் தட்டுக்கலிலிருந்து பார்க்கக்கூடிய வசதிகளையும் கொண்டுள்ள இக்கோபுரம் உலகத்தின் இரண்டாவது உயரமான கட்டடமும் கூட, 2012ம் ஆண்டு 5ம் மாதம் 22ம் திகதி திறக்கப்பட்டது. உலகத்தின் உயரமான கட்டடம் துபாயில் அமைந்துள்ள Burj Khalifa இதன் உயரம் 829.8m. கோவில்களையும், கோபுரங்களையும் காரணம் காட்டி கட்டடங்களை உயரமாகக் கட்ட நாம் தயங்க, மற்றவர்கள் எங்கோ போய்க் கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்கள்.
எம்மால் எடுக்கப்பட்ட மேலதிக படங்கள் போட்டோ பகுதியில் இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
மண்டபக் கிடங்கு - "mandapak Kidanku"

பழைய கால சுரங்கப் பாதை ஒன்றின் வழி எனக் சொல்லப்படுகின்றது. இது வல்வெட்டித்துறையின் புற நிலக் கிராமமான கெருடாவில் பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இதை வடமராட்ச்சியில் உள்ள பலரே இன்னும் பார்க்கவில்லை என்பது ஒரு வியப்புக்குரியவொன்று. அதுசரி நீங்கள் இதற்குள் இறங்கி படம் எடுத்துள்ளீர்களா?
'Mandapak Kidanku' - It is said to be a entrance and or exit of a tunnel, which is located in the Village of Kerudavil, about 2.5 Km, south west of Valvettithurai Junction. It should be noted that even many people in Jaffna peninsula have not visited this historical site so far, due to its lack of information.
தொண்டைமனாற்றுப் பாலம் - ‘Thondaimanaru Bridge’

படத்தில் காணப்படுவது புதிதாக கட்டப்பட்டு, முடியும் தருவாயிலுள்ள தொண்டைமனாற்றுப் பாலம். இப்பாலம் யாழ்பாணத்தின் B75 பாதையான யாழ்ப்பாணம் - பொன்னாலை - பருத்தித்துறை வீதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இது வடமராட்சியையும் வலிகாமத்தையும் இணைக்கின்றது.
கடந்த கால உள்நாட்டுப்போரின் போது மிகவும் கேந்திர முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்ததாக அமையப்பெற்ற இந்தப்பாலம் 1985 ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகளால் எதிபாராத வகையில் குண்டு வைத்து சேதமாக்கப்பட்டது. சேதமாக்கப்பட்ட பகுதிகள் தற்காலிகமாகக் சீர்செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
வல்வெட்டித்துறை தொண்டைமனாற்றிலிருந்து சுமார் 4 கிலோ மீட்டர் தொலைவில் கிழக்கு திசையில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
Photo shows the new Thondaimanaru bridge which is under construction now, expected to be completed very soon. Thondaimanaru Bridge is located in Jaffna peninsula, along the B 75 road (Jaffna- Ponnalai-Point Pedro) at 43rd km, and connects Vadamaraadchchi and Valaikaamam.
It was considered as strategic point during the civil war, in the past, between Srilankan forces and Libertarian Tigers of Tamil Eelam. The old bridge was partly destroyed by Tigers in an unexpected way in 1985 and the damaged portion was temporarily then repaired.
Valvettithurai is located about 4 Km east of Thodaimanari in the same B75 road.
முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் - Mullivaikkal

இலங்கை அரச படைகளிற்கும், தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகளிற்கும் இடையே நடைபெற்று வந்த, 30 வருட கால உள்நாட்டுப் போர் இந்த இடத்தில்தான் முடிவுற்றதாக 4 வருடங்களின் முன்னர் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிந்தது.
முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் இலங்கையின் வன்னிப் பகுதியின் ஒரு மாவட்டமான முல்லைத்தீவில் அமைந்துள்ளது. கடல் மட்டத்திலிருந்து சுமார் 2 இலிருந்து 3 மீட்டர் உயரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இப்பிரதேசம், குடா போன்றதொரு ஆழமற்ற நீர்ப் பரப்பைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. இந்நீர்ப்பரப்பானது சுற்றிவர மணல் திட்டுக்களையும் மற்றும் சிறிய மரங்களையும் கொண்டுள்ளதுடன், வங்காள விரிகுடாவுடன் ஒரு சிறிய தொடுப்பின்னுடாக இணைகின்றது.

Mullivaikkal (Mu’l’livaaikkaal) is located in Mullaitivu District of Vanni in North eastern Srilanka,
at an elevation of 2 to 3 meters above sea level. Mullivaikkal consists a shallow water body surrounded by sand, mangroves and other depositional features and it is separated from Bay of Bengal by a narrow opening.
