Sciuridate குடும்பத்தின் ஒரு இனமாக கருதப்படும் இந்த அணில் எளிதாக வளர்க்கப்படும் செல்லப்பிராணியாக விளங்கின்றது. இது இலங்கை மற்றும் இந்தியா நாடுகளில் அதிகம் காணப்படுகின்றது. இவ்வணில் ஒரு எலியின் அளவைப் போன்றுள்ளது. இதனுடைய வால் உடம்பை விட நிளமானது. இதிகாசங்களில் இந்த அணிலானது இராமனுக்கு உதவி செய்தாக சொல்லப்படுகின்றது.
Three-striped palm squirrel, is a species of rodent in the Sciuridae family that can be easily domesticated and kept as a pet, found only in Srilanka & India. Palm squirrel is about the size of a rat, with a bushy tail slightly shorter than its body.They are said not to be harmed, because of their association with Lord Rama.

நிலாவரை கிணறு - Nilavarai well

நிலாவரை கிணறானது யாழ்ப்பாணத்தின் அச்சுவேலியில் அமைந்துள்ள நிலாவரை எனும் கிராமத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த ஆச்சரியப்படவைக்கும், பச்சை - நீலம் கலந்த நிறங்களை கொண்ட கிணறானது, ஆழம் காண முடியாததாகவும், அடியினில் உப்புத் தண்ணீரினைக் கொண்டுள்ளதாகவும் நம்பப்படுகின்றது. இதனால் இது கடலுடன் இணைவதாகவும் நம்பப்படுகின்றது. ஆனாலும் இதனை இதுவரை உறுதிப்படுத்தப்படவில்லை. இந்துக்கள் நிலாவரைக் கிணற்றினை இராமாயணத்துடன் தொடர்புபடுத்தி வைத்துள்ளமையும் இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. அதுசரி, நாம் யாழ்ப்பணத்தவர்கள் எத்தனை பேர் இதுவரை நிலாவரை கிணற்றைப் பார்த்துள்ளோம்.
Nilavarai well is located at Nilavarai, Achchuvely of Jaffna Peninsula. This natural well with its astonishing aquamarine colour is believed to be bottomless, with salt water in its depths attesting to its connection to the Palk strait, However it is questionable. Notably Nilavarai well is providing a never-ending supply of water to its surrounding area. Hindu’s believe and link this Nilavarai well to famous Hindu epic Ramayana.

பெருந்தோட்ட பயிர்ச்செய்கையாகவும் குடிசைக்கைத் தொழிலாகவும் செய்யப்படக் கூடிய தொழில் தென்னை வளர்ப்பு. ஒரு தென்னையை உருவாக்கி 5 அல்லது 6 வருடங்களின் பின்னர் தானாகவே தொடர்ந்து பல வருடங்களுக்கு வருமானம் தரக்கூடியது தென்னை. யாழ்ப்பாணத்தின் பல பகுதிகளில் தென்னைப் பயிர்ச்செய்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்படுகின்ற பொழுதும் வடமராட்சியின் வல்லைவெளி முதல் மண்டான், முள்ளி வெளி வரையான மற்றும் வல்லை வெளி முதல் கோப்பாய் வெளி வரையான நீர் வளம் உள்ள மிகப்பெரிய மழை நீரேந்து பகுதிகள் வெறும் தரிசு நிலங்களாகவே இன்றும் இருந்து வருகின்றன.
Coconut Plantation is made as an industry and a small scale farming in Jaffna peninsula. Profit can be taken in 5 to 6 years time from a Coconut tree and this income will continue for many years without doing much hard work. Thus a coconut tree is called as "Sleeping Partner". Even though the coconut Industry / farming is being in many parts of Jaffna peninsula, however a very large rain catchment area between Vallai veli, Mandan, Mulliveli & Kopaiveli are lying as unused Land Masses, which are still not appreciated for any purpose.

மருதனாமடம் ஆஞ்சநேயர் ( அனுமான்) கோவில் - இலங்கையின் வட பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள பெரிய ஆஞ்சநேயர் கோவில் இதுவாகும். இந்துக் கடவுள்களில் ஒருவராகச் சித்தரிக்கப்படும் அனுமான், இராமரின் பக்தராக இராமயாணத்தில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கின்றார்.
Maruthaanamadam ‘Aanjaneyar (Hanuman) temple’ is the largest Aanjaneyar temple in Northern Srilanka. Hanuman is a Hindu deity, who was ardent devotee of Rama, and he is seen as a central Character in the Hindu epic Raamayana.

படத்தில் காணப்படுவது வல்லை பகுதியில் காணப்படும் மாடு வளர்ப்புத் தொழிலில் இடம்பெறும் ஒரு நிகழ்வாகும். கூட்டமாக மாடுகள் மேய்ச்சலுக்குச் செல்வது படத்தில் காட்டபட்டுள்ளது. மாடு வளர்ப்பானது அதிக வருமானத்தை தரக் கூடிய சிறந்த குடிசைக் கைத் தொழிலாகும். வல்லைப் பிரதேசமானது வடமராட்சியையும் வலிகாமத்தையும் பிரிக்கும் நிலப் பரப்பாகும்.

மரபு முறையான வள்ளக் கட்டுமானம், வாடி ஒழுங்கை, வல்வெட்டித்துறை.
இந்த வள்ளம் சுமார் 30 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் சதாசிவம் மேத்திரியார் அவர்களினால் கட்டப்பட்டது. தற்போது இக்கட்டுமாணங்கள் வல்வையில் நடைபெறுவதில்லை.
Conventional Boat Building, Vaadi lane, Valvettithurai - The Vessel (Thoni or Vallam in Tamil) shown below was built by Mr.Sathaasivam. There is no more such vessel building at present in VVT.
